Thought for the day…!
Journal on COVID-19 World crisis… 31st of March 2020
We can all learn from our past history… Humanity is the beacon of light that can take us out of this crisis… In this modern world, we are again, in a mass pandemic that has often occurred throughout our time… We can learn from these global disasters… All these pandemics have brought both social and economic downfalls…!
Being quarantined at a time of a viral pandemic crisis is common… Throughout history these measures have been attempted to contain the virus – or to flatten the curve…! Most of these widespread illnesses are respiratory problems… Black death, Spanish flu and SARS were all affected by our breathing cycle… These problems arise in how our societies function through their habitation/environment …? There was a delay in underestimating COVID-19, why wasn’t the logic of an unknown virus, respiratory problem and death put under the umbrella of action and containment…?
When this started in Wuhan… The whole world carried on as normal… in a belief that this beast wouldn’t spread… as it has done previously…! COVID-19 has proved to be one of the deadliest bacteria that the world has ever seen… We underestimated this crisis and the destruction this has brought. The world stood still and watched has COVID-19 took centre stage. In a world of technology and sophistication, we’re back here again. Facing the same dynamical changes that once Black Death and the Spanish flu brought with them. Technology has the power to prevail the truth, everyone in the world saw what happened in Wuhan and it could have stopped their…! As the vast majorities of our societies, all around the world record these experiences, I hope that lessons are learned… The spread of an unknown bacterium that brings respiratory problems and results in death should be contained immediately… This is a wake-up call… we create our own pandemics and COVID-19 is one of them… Was this fated…? No, this was a build-up of our own negligence… Wild animals need to be kept in their own habitat – and animal exportation by humans should be banned. Before, this pandemic – our greatest challenge was the climate change. It goes to show that mother earth is in charge of her own world and if it was left in human control, we would have created another unrepairable damage to the earth… The only thing that is in the control of humans is this manmade structure, this is all we need to look after…! How we build our human evolution on this 4.5-billion-year-old mother earth needs to correlate with our natural philosophy of human life…!
While we record the affects of Covid-19, Agnolo Di Tura a chronicler recorded his experiences about Black death. He lost his wife and five children to this crisis… It’s a really moving article with many relating circumstances, but hindered by the selfishness and lack of knowledge that people around them had about black death… We don’t have a lack of knowledge; we can see on a worldwide view how COVID-19 Crisis has taken control…? Being quarantined and learning how to social distance is key…?
“Father abandoned child, wife, husband, one brother another: for this illness seemed to strike through the breath and sight and so they died, and none could be found to bury the dead for money or friendship. Members of a household brought their dead to a ditch as best they could, without priest, without divine offices… great pits were dug, and piled deep with the multitude of dead. And they died by the hundreds both day, and night… and as soon as those ditches were filled more were dug… and there also those who were so sparsely covered with earth that the dogs dragged them forth and devoured many bodies throughout the city. There was no one who wept for any death, for all awaited death. And so many died that all believed it was the end of the world.”
– Agnolo di Tura, of Siena – Italy
